ABOUT our slow travel family…
We’ve sold everything to travel the world and to inspire more families to put experience first.
We are Every Further Mile (aka the Swartz family) and we’ve had a dream to travel the world full time for over 10 YEARS!
What took us so long?… So many things!
#1: MONEY (of course!): While I wish traveling the world was free, we definitely needed some money to get us around. We’re finding new ways all the time to save $$ and spend a lot less, but it’s not always easy.
#2: FEAR/WORRY: Leaving behind what’s comfortable and trying to make our way around the world can be scary – from being unfamiliar with various countries to building our entrepreurial journey to finding ways to live around the world without spending tons of money to worrying about finding friends for our kids.
My biggest fear was, what if we start to travel and find out we actually don’t like it? (Sounds crazy, but it’s a legit fear!)
#3: GUILT: We’re actually used to packing up and moving to new locations, so our family might read this and find it strange, but every time we’ve moved away (then moved back ‘home’, then moved away again – repeat), we always feel guilty for leaving our friends and family behind.
So, why are we telling you this?
Because we want to help families with similar dreams take the leap to travel. And to hopefully do it before you hit 10 years like us… but if you do hit 10 years, then we still want to show you that you don’t need to give up on your dream!
While traveling as a lifestyle seems like it’s completely out of reach, I can tell you it’s definitely NOT! There are thousands and thousands of families, couples, singles that do this and you can too.
Our goal is to help you move past the reasons we listed above (and then some) and into your travel dreams.
